Village Treasures opens on a perfect California day. Stevi, a typical, screen-absorbed teenager, reluctantly tags along with her sprightly Aunt Meredith on a shopping trip to downtown Long Beach. The mundane day takes an unexpected turn when they visit Village Treasures, a vibrant African art store run by the warm and wise Max.

Stevi's world transforms when she stumbles upon an enchanting Kalimba. One pluck of its keys, and the store comes to life with vibrant, joyous African dancers. Each subsequent strumming of the Kalimba immerses Stevi deeper into the enchanting world of African culture, moving her beyond the confines of her digital universe.
